The Tenant Participatory Advisory
Service for England (TPAS) has
launched its new content-managed
website, developed by Connect Internet
Solutions.
Connect was required to develop a
better and more accessible, user-
friendly site for tenant groups,
resident organisations and social
housing landlords.
The new site incorporates all the
information available on the old TPAS
website, but has been expanded to
accommodate many useful new features,
including a search facility, bulletin
board and events calendar. The
website even includes an ‘Online
Jargon Buster’ – a fully searchable
online database which gives
definitions of over 375 terms.
“The new website, designed by Connect,
not only gives us a more modern and
professional online presence, it has
also made it possible for us to
provide a vastly expanded service to
our users. The Content Management
System has greatly simplified the way
in which we add new, and update
existing material," comments Michelle
Taylor, Information Officer for TPAS.
“It is so easy to use that work can be
spread across departments and no
longer relies on the skills of one or
two individuals. I really do not think
that we would be able to provide such
a comprehensive and up to date service
without it!”
One area of the website that has
dramatically improved is the
Information section. Visitors can now
access a comprehensive range of
information and resources to support
tenant participation (TP). Information
available includes full text versions
of all policy documents, TPAS TP
Compact Briefings and fifty TPAS
Information Sheets covering topics
from Community Safety to Running
Effective Meetings. The site also
offers Subject Guides, quick briefings
on key subjects such as Tenant’s
Rights and Tenant Management.
“We are very pleased that TPAS have
received a positive reaction from
customers using the site,” comments
Duncan Sime, Account Manager at
Connect Internet Solutions.
“We developed the site to meet
accessibility guidelines. With over
150 full text versions of TPAS
documents and smaller file sizes
available for downloads, accessing
information from TPAS has never been
easier.”
